Turn your pictures into bead patterns

Drop a photo or a drawing: Beads Studio converts it into a bead grid using the real Artkal, Hama, Perler and five other brands' codes. Fix it bead by bead, then print a pattern one pegboard per page.

How it works

Four steps, from file to frame. Nothing to install.

  1. 1

    You bring an image

A photo, a drawing, a logo, a PDF page. You can split it into several motifs, each becoming a creation of its own.

  2. 2

    You pick your beads

The diameter, the brands you have at hand, your pegboards. The studio only uses codes that really exist.

  3. 3

    You adjust

Size in beads or centimetres, number of colours, dithering. Then touch it up bead by bead, in layers.

  4. 4

You lay it out and iron

The pattern prints board by board, with the list of beads to buy and what your stock is short of.

What the app does

The manufacturer's real colours

2,387 real references: Artkal A/C/M/R/S, Hama Mini/Midi/Maxi, Perler, PixieCraft, Nabbi, Mard, Yant, Diamond Dotz. Every bead carries its official code and symbol.

Colour matching that trusts your eye

Matching runs in CIE L*a*b* with the CIEDE2000 difference, the formula that follows human perception. A plain RGB distance, common elsewhere, picks visibly wrong beads.

Bead sizes never get mixed

Pick a diameter first — 2.6, 2.8, 5 or 10 mm — and only the charts of that size become available. Pegboard and centimetres follow.

Bead by bead editor

Pencil, eraser, colour picker, paint bucket, and replacing one colour across the whole pattern — with every affected bead highlighted before you commit.

Layers, like in a drawing app

A background, characters, objects: stack several pictures and move them freely. Your earlier projects can be reused as layers.

A pattern you can actually read

One A4 page per pegboard, column and row numbers, a heavier line every 5 beads, and the beads needed for that page alone.

Your beads, your pattern

Declare the colours you own: the pattern can stick to those only, or tell you exactly what is missing.

Exports and saving

PDF, PNG, and a project file to reopen later. A library keeps your creations in the browser.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?
No. Importing an image, converting it, touching it up and printing the pattern all work without signing up. An account is what lets you find your projects and your stock again on another device.
Are my beads supported?
The colour charts of the main brands are built in, with their official codes. You can tick several at once and work from what you actually own.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in the browser, with nothing to install. The site can also be added to your home screen and then works offline.
How many beads will I need?
The materials list gives the exact count, colour by colour. Fill in your stock and it also shows what you are short of and suggests replacement shades.
Can I print the pattern?
The PDF comes out board by board, to scale, with assembly marks and a colour key. Enough to lay the beads without going back to the screen.
What about a large design?
The design is split automatically to the pegboard format you use, whatever the brand. A wall of several boards is prepared just like a small keyring.
